After a Support Worker has applied to your Job Post you can message them to request a 'Meet & Greet'.
This is normally a complimentary (unpaid) opportunity to share more and learn more.
A Support Worker isn't obliged to offer a complimentary Meet & Greet. It's up to them.
It's a perfect chance to share info, get to know each other and see if you get along.
Request Meet & Greets
Before you request a 'Meet and Greet', we highly recommend introducing yourself and clarifying any questions you have via our 'Messages' feature.
You can message Support Workers who have applied to your Job Post in 2 places:
- Selecting the 'Message' button on their profile, OR
- Going to your 'Messages' tab.
Good questions to ask before your first Meet & Greet:
- Do you have experience with this support?
- What exact days / times are you available?
- I need help with X-Y-Z. Can you assist with these services?
This helps you understand a Support Worker's needs also.
If you learn that they won't be the right person, you're able to politely cancel the 'Meet & Greet' - and save you both time (if it's not a good fit).
When you're comfortable with the Support Worker and are ready to meet, organise a time and place via our Messaging feature. For Safety, it's important you don't share your personal details.
Successful Meet & Greets
Here are our tips for successful Meet & Greets:
- Always arrive on time. Communicate if you're running late.
- If preferable or safer for you, arrange to meet in a public place.
- Prepare questions to ask. Know what's important to find out.
- Discuss rates, availability, experience, and agreement terms.
- Verify credentials and checks if you like, even if Kynd has already.
Your goal is to find out if they're a good fit for you and vice-versa.
Good things to share about yourself in Meet & Greets are:
- "The goals I'm working towards are..."
- "I would like your support with..."
- "Here's what a typical day looks like..."
- "Here's what a bad day might be like..."
- "Here's what you need to know to support me well..."
- "These are my boundaries and non-negotiables..."
- Things that worked well or didn't in the past.
- Any safety issue a Support Worker must know.
Good questions for the 'Meet & Greet' include:
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- How can you help with my support needs and preferences?
- Tell me about your relevant experience and skills?
- Do you have the relevant training and supervision?
- What exact days and times are you free?
And finally...
- "Do you have any questions for me?"
- "Do you think we'd be a good fit for each other?"
- "Would you be interested in setting up some bookings?"
It's also worth discussing their hourly rates (weekend, night, public holidays) and to find a mutual agreement.
Important
After your first 'free' Meet & Greet with a Support Worker, any extra meetings, interviews or trainings need to be set up as bookings.
After the Meet & Greet
It's easy to add one-off or repeating bookings via Kynd.
