As an NDIS participant, you have rights under the NDIS Code of Conduct.
All NDIS providers and workers (both registered and unregistered) must follow the code.
The NDIS Code of Conduct exists to protect your rights.
It also exists to help ensure you receive high-quality, safe supports.
Your Rights
You have the right to be treated with respect and dignity at all times.
This means NDIS providers and workers must:
- Deliver services safely and competently
- Never engage in abuse, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination
- Respect your privacy and maintain confidentiality
- Provide clear and accurate information about services
- Promptly address any concerns or complaints you raise
- Consider your individual needs, preferences, and cultural background
- Support you to make your own decisions about your supports
Speaking Up
You always have the right to:
- Raise concerns directly with your Support Worker or Provider
- Contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Seek help from an advocate
